Pinjinn Privacy Policy

Pinjinn is a Chrome extension made by Aurajinn that turns a webpage’s title, or text you highlight on it, into a branded, downloadable image (“pin”). This page explains exactly what Pinjinn accesses, what it stores, what it sends anywhere, and what it never does, in plain language, matched to how the extension actually works.

The short version

Pinjinn has no server, no account system, and no login. Everything it stores lives locally in your own browser. The only data that ever leaves your device does so because you explicitly triggered a feature that requires it (fetching a logo, or loading a custom font), and in those cases it goes directly from your browser to that third-party service, never through Aurajinn.

What Pinjinn accesses, and why

When you create a pin (by clicking the toolbar icon or highlighting text on a page) Pinjinn reads:

• The page’s title and meta description
• The page’s main image (for the Backdrop style)
• The text you’ve highlighted, if you’re creating a pull-quote pin

This is read directly from the page you’re on, for the sole purpose of building the pin you’re actively creating. It is processed in your browser’s memory and is not saved, logged, or transmitted anywhere once you close the editor. Pinjinn does not keep a history of pages you’ve visited or pins you’ve created.

Pinjinn requests access to all websites (rather than a fixed list of sites) because its core function, which is to create a pin from whatever page you’re currently reading, can be used on any site you browse. It does not run in the background or access pages you haven’t actively used it on.

What Pinjinn stores, and where

Pinjinn saves your brand preferences locally on your device, using your browser’s built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This includes:

• Your chosen brand colors and font
• A logo image, if you’ve uploaded one
• Your logo.dev API token, if you’ve added one
• A custom font you’ve chosen to save as a default, if applicable

None of this is transmitted to Aurajinn or stored on any server. It stays on your device, tied to your own Chrome profile, for as long as you keep the extension installed (or until you clear it; see “Your controls” below).

What gets shared with third parties

Pinjinn only contacts a third-party service when you take an action that specifically requires it:

• logo.dev — if you’ve added your own logo.dev API token and choose to fetch a logo, your token and the relevant domain name are sent directly from your browser to logo.dev to retrieve that logo. This only happens when you click that button.
• Google Fonts — if you type in a custom font name, that name is sent directly from your browser to Google Fonts to retrieve the font file. This only happens when you choose to use a custom font.

In both cases, the request goes straight from your browser to that service. It does not pass through Aurajinn, and Aurajinn never sees or stores it. Pinjinn does not share, sell, or transfer any data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party, and no one at Aurajinn manually reads any data handled by the extension.

Your controls

• Remove a logo, font, or color at any time from within the extension’s editor or its brand settings.
• Clear everything Pinjinn has stored by removing the extension from Chrome, which deletes all locally stored data along with it, or by clearing your browser’s extension storage for Pinjinn directly through Chrome’s settings.
• Choose not to use optional features. The logo.dev token and custom fonts are both entirely opt-in. Pinjinn works fully without either.

Security

Because your brand settings never leave your device, there’s no server-side database to secure or breach. The only outbound requests Pinjinn makes (to logo.dev and Google Fonts) happen over HTTPS.

Limited Use disclosure

Pinjinn’s use of any data it accesses complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements:

• Data is used only to provide Pinjinn’s core, user-facing feature: creating a pin from a page or a highlighted quote.
• Data is never used or transferred for advertising, ad targeting, or any form of monetization unrelated to that feature.
• No person at Aurajinn reads user data handled by the extension.
• Data is never sold or transferred to third parties, except where you’ve directly triggered a request to a third-party service described above.

Children’s privacy

Pinjinn is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent.

Changes to this policy

If Pinjinn’s features change in a way that affects what data it accesses or where it goes, this page will be updated to reflect that before the change ships.
